LIVE: Awake: The Best of Live **1/2 (Universal). Liner notes reveal singer Ed Kowalczyk is convinced of his own importance. Shame his band isn't quite as groundbreaking as he thinks it is. This 19-track compilation suffers from an overdose of Kowalczyk's earnestness, drab arrangements and lack of humour. But there are strong moments, the highlights coming with the Throwing Copper selections.
