DEF LEPPARD: Best of Def Leppard **1/2 (Universal). This multi-platinum British hard rock outfit is built for arenas but many of the songs don't stand the test of time. Based completely on Mutt Lange's meticulous production, the likes of Armageddon It, Rocket and Pour Some Sugar on Me are guilty pleasures that are superior to most '80s poodle-hair rock, although trained chimps would write deeper lyrics.
