WITH Powderfinger taking a year off, guitarist Darren Middleton has grabbed the chance to step forward as a front man in Drag with a voice that is pleasant but not distinctive. Yet he seems less bound by the Powderfinger formula here with keyboards to the fore and an absence of trademark guitar hooks and obvious radio rock.
