THE BEATLES: Love (EMI)

This magical mystery tour through the Fab Four's unrivalled repertoire is designed to be experienced with Cirque du Soleil's visuals, but unless you're heading to Las Vegas any time soon, the soundtrack will have to do. Sir George Martin and son Giles have concocted a dazzling mishmash of many immortal songs, and even the classics that are left almost untouched (e.g. A Day in the Life) have never sounded better. Picking where each snippet is taken from is a game in itself. Highlights abound, including a breathtaking mix of Being For the Benefit of Mr Kite, I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Helter Skelter. Purists may protest, but this is actually a fresh way to experience rock's Holy Grail.
